It is our last day and we decided to go back to the malls
near us to buy some pasalubongs and hopefully have some time to go to Monas
(National Monument). So we decided to go to the farthest first, which is Mal Ciputra.
We remembered riding a bus, so we did, unfortunately we accidentally rode the
wrong bus and walked 2 blocks to get to the mall. It was a bit sunny but since
it was till morning, the air was cool and it was a bit refreshing too, well of
course despite some smoke belchers along the road. After reaching the mall, we
headed out to the stores.
After buying some stuff, we headed out to Taman Angrek and
visited the department store to buy some “not so” traditional clothing. We also
then went around to see more stores for our pasalubongs.
After roaming around looking for a place to eat we decided
to eat in the food court. I did not know that they actually use coupons for
purchase. You have to exchange your money for coupons then when you’re done and
still have some extras you may exchange them again. Though there is a minimum
exchange amount so yeah, toxic but the idea is great. I actually told my mom,
who handled Robinsons Galleria’s food court before about that. She told me that
was supposed to be their idea for Tutuban Mall’s food court (another mall she
worked at) and that it’s somewhat easier to get the leaser’s payment that way
because you hold the money and just deduct the rent fee before giving the money
to them.
After a whole days shopping, we went to Central Park and
bought some bread and some groceries to refill the lost stocks they have at
home and snacks to munch on the plane.
We fixed our bags and watched TV and fixed some stuff.
We went to the airport after a hearty dinner treat by my
aunt. And bid farewell to them. While in the airport we felt a bit anxious
about the board exam results and wishing that the results come out while we’re
on the plane and that we would just open our cellphones when we land back to
NAIA 3 and learn the verdict.
Sat August 20= Flight CGK-MNL
Arrival 0530H, we headed back home safely and decided to
message each other later that day because of a friend’s birthday party. So
after breakfast at home, I fall asleep, despite not changing my clothes and
woke up around lunch time and took a shower and dressed up to go to our
friend’s birthday party.
I arrived at their house just the right time. I gave the
birthday celebrant her gift and pasalubong then headed out to the feast. After
some laughter and some stories shared, we then learned that the results were
out. My friend’s sister shouted with joy because of a text message she received
from a friend that she passed. She still couldn’t believe it but she did.
We then all fall in line the computer and waited for our
turn to check our names, though most of us learned that we passed even before
we read our names on the list. Then the birthday girl looked for her name,
unfortunately she was not on the list. We double checked,to no avail. We then
felt sad and tried to comfort her. It was hard to feel sad for someone else if
you’re happy for yourself (especially if you lack sleep), but friendship is
really a thing, that’s why we still manage to keep our emotions despite the
festive hearts we have.
